OUR FOUNDER
Meet Michael
I have always been passionate about living an active lifestyle. However, as a student-athlete who pursued multiple degrees in college, and someone who juggled personal and professional commitments, I also understood sometimes carving up the time to be active might be a challenge.

I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and then went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety. Throughout my studies and into my professional career as a safety consultant, I realized I simply lacked the time for my workouts to be as effective as others.
Fortunately, my education has always encouraged me to be creative, innovative, and challenge my out-of-the-box thinking. My passion for being active, and my knowledge of marketing, ergonomics, and product research culminated in the conception of weighted clothes.
OUR STORY
Company History
The idea for weighted clothes was born in 2002. After years of research, design, and engineering I was able to develop a working prototype, and I applied for a patent in 2004. While working at the family ceramic business, I was able to continue to invest in the project.

I was granted a patent in 2008, and I reached out to some of the country’s leading designers, industrial engineers and marketers. We designed the weighted clothes prototype even further, but just as we were about to launch to market, the 2010 financial crisis came crashing down on the economy and ultimately my venture.

I had to put the project on hold while I focused on recovering my savings, financial stability, and life. I moved to Arizona and became a safety consultant for a prominent semiconductor company. As I felt more financially secure, I began re-investing in the project. Several years, another financial crisis, and numerous hardships later, I was finally able to give weighted clothes the attention it deserved. I got together with the brightest designers and engineers and once again, we perfected the latest prototype.

Winter of 2019, weighted clothes first editions are finally ready for market. As final tests were wrapping up, news broke of first Covid-19 cases. The economy closed for the entire 2020 year. I was yet again, faced with another (3rd) economy crash.

As the vaccines rolled out in early 2021, positive signs showed the virus could be contained. The economy started to open again. Summer of 2021 marked the actual beginning of weighted clothes.
